A donation handover took place at the Grab PH Headquarters in Metro Manila on April 9, 2022 during Grab PH’s Papugay event, which the company mounts each quarter to show appreciation to, and recognize their outstanding drivers. TECNO Mobile Awards Budding Filipino Filmmaker Johanna Serrano as the Grand Winner of Its First Movie Masters Program

TECNO Mobile recently concluded its first Movie Masters Program with an awarding ceremony held on December 11, 2021. At the awarding event, filmmaker Johanna Serrano was named the Grand Winner of the Movie Masters Program for her film, Bukidnon An Eco Adventure, besting two other finalists, Dylan Talon and Angelo Crisostomo. In the short film, Johanna takes viewers along as she explores the beautiful province of Bukidnon, sharing raw and authentic moments that she experiences during the trip.

As the Grand Winner, Johanna received a Php 300,000 film grant, along with the chance to create a short film together with top local director, Paul Soriano and the TEN17P team. The film, which will be released globally this December, will take a look back at the past year, and show how Filipinos are capable of overcoming challenges that may shake them, in order to live a steady life with the promise of a stable and beautiful future. 

Apart from emerging as the Grand Winner of the short film competition, Johanna was also named as one of two TECNO Mobile 2022 Tourism Ambassadors. The second Tourism Ambassador awarded at the event was Felix Ablao Jr., who submitted the best steadiest video entry for the Shaky Video Championship on Facebook. First Android phone to integrate Sensor Shift: TECNO also plans to release its Sensor Shift technology in 2022, making itself the first mobile phone brand in Android system to do so. Sensor Shift is an image stabilization technology that uses sensor movements instead of lens movements to compensate for vibrations. In the future, the control accuracy of TECNO’s Sensor Shift will reach 350% of the current level with further algorithm optimization. Then, consumers will be able to take studio-quality photos with more stability.

With this goal in mind, one of TECNO’s grand challenges it had to overcome was to cater to the many varying views of beauty over different regions and cultures, combining the best of the past and the present. According to Li, TECNO is putting in so much effort because it is not enough to advance technology. Using AI algorithms for Image Super-Resolution, low-resolution images caused by digital zoom can be recovered. TAIVOS™ Lab has also patented various technologies to support the innovative ideas churned out by the lab. We have a huge database, and compared to the entire industry, the quality of this database is high because, firstly, it is very focused. Secondly, we are spending a lot of energy to label the data. After we accumulate and label the data, we can do so much more to improve on what we have so that our users will always have the best.”

TECNO Mobile Invites Aspiring Filipino Filmmakers To Join The 2021 Movie Masters Program Short Film Competition

Capture moving moments using the ‘Movie Master’ CAMON 18 Premier for the chance to win a Php 300,000 film grant in collaboration with Director Paul Soriano, and other awesome prizes!

TECNO Mobile’s CAMON 18 Premier is finally in the Philippines, and to officially kick off the arrival of this “Movie Master” smartphone, the brand is inviting amateur Filipino filmmakers, who are at least 18 years old, to join the 2021 Movie Masters Program Short Film Competition. The program aims to showcase moving moments from everyday life through original videos shot using the CAMON 18 Premier.

Its CAMON 18 Premier variant is equipped with an ultra-steady Stabilized Gimbal Camera that delivers a #SuperSteadyShot in every video, which aspiring filmmakers can experience firsthand when they join the Movie Masters Program. 

Send In Your Entries for TECNO Mobile’s Movie Masters Program

The call for entries for the TECNO Mobile Movie Masters Program will run from November 12-20, 2021. To enter, interested participants must submit a 1-minute video where they explain why they should be considered for the program. Part of the video should include the participant speaking directly to the camera, while the rest of the 1-minute running time may be used creatively, and can include samples of past works, and other similar footage. 

Participants must guarantee that all submitted works are original, and do not contain any copyrighted audio, offensive language, pornography or obscenity. Submissions may be sent to ​​https://bit.ly/TECNOMovieMasters, and must include the following information:

• Participant’s name
• Contact details
• Copy of any valid government ID

The deadline for entries is on November 20, 2021, at 11:00 PM. Entries will be assessed based on storytelling, creativity and originality, and engagement. 

After the Qualifier Round, three semi finalists for the Movie Masters Program will be selected by TECNO Mobile, from among all the submitted videos. Each semifinalist will receive a cash prize of Php 25,000, along with a CAMON 18 Premier smartphone.

Semi finalists will need to create short videos, with the theme “Capturing Moving Moments in the Philippines.” All semifinal videos must be shot using CAMON 18 Premier, giving participants the chance to see the Movie Master smartphone in action, and experience its Super Steady Shot feature. Submitted videos must focus on one of three subjects – The participant’s hometown or city, to show what life is like there; an upcoming holiday, such as a vacation, get-together or celebration that they are looking forward to; or daily life scenes featuring real people around them. 

The filmmaker with best video among the semi finalists will be awarded as the Grand Winner. The winning video will be selected based on storytelling, creativity and originality, and engagement, along with its technical quality, which includes cinematography, editing, background music, sound effects, and other audio. 

The Grand Winner will receive a Php 300,000 film grant, together with the opportunity to create a short film about capturing moving moments in the Philippines, with the help of top local director, Paul Soriano, and his team at TEN17P. The completed short film will be released globally this December, and will feature 2021 in retrospect, conveying the message that, while life may shake us, we are all capable of overcoming challenges in order to live a steady life, with a beautiful and stable future to look forward to. 

A runner-up will also be chosen, and will be given the title of TECNO Mobile’s 2022 Tourism Ambassador. The runner-up will receive a Holiday Travel Fund amounting to Php 40,000.
